How Financial Aid Works
Helpful Hints
Read all instructions carefully before completing any financial aid forms or applications.
If tax returns and other verification materials are requested, be sure you respond by the deadline date listed on your verification notification.
Students whose verification materials are received after their deadline may not be awarded funds
from most need-based institutional scholarship and grant funds, or from Federal Perkins Loan, Federal Work-Study or Federal SEOG funds.
Round off your figures to the nearest dollar when filling out forms. Do not leave any items blank unless instructed to do so—enter “0” if the value is zero; enter N/A if it is not applicable.
Observe all filing deadlines set by the university and sponsoring agencies.
Check all forms for completeness and accuracy. Be sure to sign and date them as indicated. Retain copies for your records. Please note that the deadline is not extended if all requested documents are not initially submitted or are submitted with incomplete information.
Regularly monitor your aid progress by checking your
Buckeye Mail account
and your financial aid status on your Student Center, available via
